Character Grade Character grade flooring allows large knots and cracks in the wood. All open knots and cracks will be filled with filler. Color variation within planks and sapwood may be present but not guaranteed. Color variation from plank to plank are also common.
Select Grade Select grade flooring offers a uniform look with few to no knots. It may still have characteristics such as small closed knots and minor color variation.
